Mets first-round pick Justin Dunn made his professional debut with the Brooklyn Cyclones on Monday, throwing two scoreless innings in relief and allowing two hits while striking out a pair.

The Mets selected Dunn with their first pick (19th overall) in the 2016 draft out of Boston College. The Freeport, NY native started the season as a closer for BC, but finished in the rotation where his stock soared. In 18 games, including eight starts, Dunn was 4-2 with a 2.06 ERA. In 65.2 innings pitched, he struck out 72 and posted a 1.07 WHIP.

The right-hander has a four pitch arsenal, with two grading out as plus offerings. His four seamer sits in the mid 90’s and touches 97, and he throws a slider that sits in the high 80s. His curveball is below average, but his changeup has flashed plus potential.

Dunn will work out of the Cyclones’ bullpen given his workload this season as well as his postseason appearances.
