Mets first round pick David Peterson will be making his professional baseball debut this Friday for the Brooklyn Cyclones. He was assigned to Short-A Brooklyn after he and the Mets agreed on a $2.99 million signing bonus.

Peterson, 21, went 11-4 with a 2.51 ERA and 140 strikeouts in 100.1 innings with the University of Oregon this season. His season featured a 20-strikeout performance against Arizona State.
