New York Mets first baseman Lucas Duda was scratched from the lineup on Friday night because he’s still feeling the effects of the flu. T.J. Rivera, who had three hits on Thursday, takes his spot in the lineup at first base and batting sixth.

Duda has been out of the Mets starting lineup for three straight games now.

Outfielder Michael Conforto is out of the Mets lineup again on Friday night as he is still trying to recover from his bruised wrist.

In was seems to being a daily ritual, New York Mets manager Terry Collins addressed the media prior to Thursday’s game with the Miami Marlins to give a status update on the team’s current injuries.

Michael Conforto is out of the lineup for the fourth straight game as his hand still feels uncomfortable swinging a bat. Conforto was hit by a pitch on the wrist on Sunday.

Lucas Duda is out of the Mets lineup tonight against a right-hander because he is still feeling the effects of the flu.

Second baseman Neil Walker took batting practice today for the first time since partially tearing his hamstring earlier this month. He has yet to run though.

The Mets seemingly forget that Major League Baseball changed it’s rules this year and you can put players on a 10-day disabled list. Conforto still can’t swing the bat and has missed four games, not sure at what point the Mets think it would be prudent to finally put him on the disabled list and not continue to play a man down.

Seems highly unlikely, but getting Walker back before the trade deadline would be a huge bonus for the Mets and their expected fire sale.
