David Wright is on FIRE!

After picking up another three RBIs in last night’s 7-6 win against the Cleveland Indians, David Wright has overtaken Albert Pujols and now lead the National League in RBIs with 50. He has now lifted his batting average to .293 to go with a .933 OPS. In his last 12 games, Wright is batting .426 with a 1.215 OPS. In that span he has stroked four home runs and picked up 16 RBIs. Among all third baseman, Wright is in the top five in eight offensive categories.

Jose Reyes is on FIRE!

Jose Reyes continues to get better as the season goes on as evidenced by his .238 average in April, .272 in May, and .293 batting average in June. In his last seven games, Jose Reyes is batting 13 for 29 for a .448 batting average. He has scored six runs in that span with three stolen bases. He is making more contact and has struck out only six times in 48 June at-bats while drawing six walks.

The Mets are on FIRE!

In their last 21 games, the Mets are 16–5. No other team in baseball has won as many games during that stretch. In the latest Power Rankings by AOL Fanhouse, the Mets have soared from a low of 23 in April, and 19 in May, to a season high of #4 in this weeks rankings, ahead of the Yankees who were ranked #5. Last week the Mets were ranked #14 so it is a significant jump for one week and shows just how blistering hot the Mets have been. They are now just one half game behind the Braves for first place.
