bryan greenMets prospect and 2013 first-round pick Dominic Smith has been selected as this week’s Florida State League Player of the Week.

After struggling for the first few weeks of the season, Smith has suddenly turned it on. He is currently riding a 13-game hitting streak in which he is batting .377/.400/.623 with ten doubles, a home run, and 14 RBI.

Smith had a monster week, capped off by a two-run walk-off home run on Saturday night for St. Lucie, who are 25-25 on the year.

Overall, Smith is hitting .260/.303/.377 with a home run, 14 doubles, and 26 RBI. This is the second week in a row that a St. Lucie Met has been named FSL Player of the Week. Last week, Michael Conforto (since promoted to Binghamton), took home the award.
