Mets second baseman Dilson Herrera is not close to a return from the disabled list, reports Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

Herrera fractured the tip of the middle finger on his right hand during infield drills on May 15th, and Terry Collins told the media Sunday that the 21 year-old remains in a splint, unable to grip a bat or ball.

Herrera, who was called up to play second when the club elected to use Daniel Murphy at third base in place of the injured David Wright, was the youngest position player in the MLB at the time of his arrival on April 30th.

Dilson has been doing infield and baserunning drills in Port St Lucie, but there is no timetable for his return to the big leagues, where he had been hitting .235 with one home run in 10 games this season.
