Neil Ramirez, who the Mets designated for assignment last week, has cleared waivers and is now a free agent according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Ramirez, 28, was ineffective for the Mets, allowing 15 earned runs in 21.0 innings, striking out 26 and walking 17. He had a 6.43 ERA and 5.58 FIP.

He has now been an employee of three different teams this summer, the Giants, Blue Jays and Mets. He has pitched a total of 31.1 innings with a 7.18 ERA and 4.94 FIP.

Finally, he’s not in the Mets bullpen anymore. It is possible a team will sign him to a minor league deal based on his comparatively better peripherals, specifically his 12.6 K/9 mark this season and his 10.8 career mark. To the team that takes the bait I say… Good luck.
