Terry Collins told reporters before Sunday’s game that Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom will not skip a turn in the rotation as he had originally announced on Saturday.
However, the Mets manager did not say when deGrom’s next outing would be, only that he wouldn’t be pitching on Tuesday against the Braves.
Rookie right-hander Logan Verrett will start on Tuesday and I assume we’ll know when deGrom pitches again on Monday.

Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom preferred to start against the Braves at Citi Field in the next series and not be skipped in the rotation.
However, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, rookie right-hander Logan Verrett will start on Tuesday in place of deGrom versus the Braves.
“It’s out of my hands,” deGrom said. “I have told them I would rather not be skipped, but that is a decision that’s up to them.”
Verrett has made two spot starts for the Mets in place of Matt Harvey and has delivered in a big way. He allowed one run and three hits in five innings in the Mets’ 4-3 win over Miami on Monday at Citi Field.
Verrett also tossed eight innings of one-run ball in place of Harvey on Aug. 23 in Colorado before returning to Triple-A Las Vegas for two starts earlier this month.
After getting rocked in his last start against the Miami Marlins, deGrom (13-8) has a 6.41 ERA in his last five starts.
This is a good move by the Mets. Verrett has shown himself to be quite effective when he starts and deGrom can probably use the rest despite his insistence that he’d rather pitch.
