The New York Mets announced that third baseman David Wright will address his timeline for the remainder of the 2018 season in a live press conference you can see on Twitter. The press conference will take place at 1:45 p.m. ET.
Wright hit twice during a simulated game on Tuesday at Citi Field against Mets top pitching prospects David Peterson and Justin Dunn. Due to the field conditions he didn’t field any balls at third base.
The 35-year-old hasn’t played in a major league game since 2016. He homered last week off Tim Peterson in a simulated game at Citi Field and went 8-for-51 in 15 rehab games before rejoining the Mets to continue his rehabbing process.
