deGrom and d'Arnaud

The news is good on Travis d’Arnaud who has already been cleared to swing a bat and took some dry swings on Monday and will now ramp things up from there.

“Tomorrow, he’ll probably do some more dry work, then some tee work, if everything is OK there, he’ll do some soft tosses so he can get used to the shock of the ball,” Terry Collins told reporters.

And while Terry or Sandy Alderson have not yet announced a timetable for his return, a team source told reporter Kristie Ackert of the Daily News, that there’s a possibility he could get activated this weekend against the Pirates.

D’Arnaud, who fractured a finger of his right hand when he was hit by a pitch on April 19,  was hitting .317 with a .356 OBP and a .537 SLG before the injury.

His replacements haven’t performed nearly as well, and his addition to the lineup will certainly boost the team’s offense.
