travis d'Arnaud

The good news keeps coming for Travis d’Arnaud and Dilson Herrera who are both making excellent progress while on rehab assignments with Advanced-A St. Lucie.

D’Arnaud served as the designated hitter Friday night for the St. Lucie Mets and went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in. He was pinch hit for in the ninth.

Meanwhile, Dilson played second base and had a big game going 3-for-4 with three singles for St. Lucie. He came out after seven innings.

The Mets may soon get some reinforcements in catcher Travis d’Arnaud and second baseman Dilson Herrera, both of whom officially began their rehab assignments with High-A St. Lucie.

Both d’Arnaud and Herrera played five innings at their regular positions for the St. Lucie Mets were on Thursday night.

D’Arnaud went 1-for-2 with a walk while Herrera went 1-for-3 with a double and two strikeouts.

I’m especially relieved to see d’Arnaud move past that bone bruise that set him back for a few days. He has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 20 with a broken finger.

Herrera has been out since May 15 when he suffered a broken finger during fielding practice.

Both players will likely play another game or two at St. Lucie before moving onto Binghamton and then Las Vegas. Each could be ready to rejoin the team by next Friday.
