Well that didn’t last long.
According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, Terry Collins said Parnell would not be used to make spot starts this season, but instead would be used for multiple inning stints out of the bullpen.
I have to point out a comment left earlier today on this thread by Original Mets Fan:
I dont believe a lot of what Martino says. Nothing against the guy but he just seems way off base a lot of times.

Andy Martino of the Daily News, said via Twitter that reliever Bobby Parnell is the first choice to provide a spot start for Johan Santana should the need arise.
In another tweet he adds that if Parnell were to start a game, it would be only for a few innings and not an extended outing.
Parnell, 27, actually started today’s game against the Braves and threw three scoreless innings, extending his scoreless streak to 12 1/3 innings this Spring. He has allowed just five hits and two walks while striking out ten batters.
The right-hander originally worked his way to the majors as a starting pitcher and started 93 games in the minors although without much success. Parnell has not started a game since last doing it on September 16, 2009.
