Who will take the next trip to Cooperstown?

On Monday, the Baseball Hall of Fame and Baseball Writers’ Association of America announced the 2018 Hall-of-Fame ballot.

Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Omar Vizquel, Johan Santana and Jamie Moyer highlight the group of players that are on the ballot for the first time. They will join Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens who are on the ballot for the sixth time and Manny Ramirez who is on the ballot for the second year.

The returning players to the ballot would have already been enshrined had they not been tied to PED use throughout their respective careers.

As for the newbies, it seems as though Jones and Thome will get in no problem. Other notable players to keep an eye on are Vladimir Guerrero and Trevor Hoffman, who received 71.1 percent and 74.0 percent of votes in 2017, respectively.
