Before today’s game against Baltimore Orioles, Yoenis Cespedes did a lot of running, as he ran around the bases and the outfield while also doing some additional baseball activities.
However, Mike Puma of the New York Post hears that the 32-year old will likely not be ready for the Subway Series. The team is still discussing a plan for him, with a rehab assignment certainly still on the table.
Mickey Callaway did not rule out a return for the left-fielder against the Yankees, though.
Cespedes has been on the disabled list since May 13 with a right hip flexor strain.
Before landing on the DL, he was hitting .255/.316/.474 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, and 50 strikeouts in 137 at-bats on the season.
