Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has been nominated for the Hank Aaron Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding offensive performer in each league.
Cespedes followed up his strong 2015 season with an equally offensively potent 2016, slamming 31 homers with 86 RBI’s.
The Cuban slugger also slugged a quality .280/.354/.530 in 132 games.
Cespedes currently has two more years on his contract but with an opt-out after this season, and one has to figure he will hit the open market in what is a rather thin pool of players.
