Triple-A

The Syracuse Mets went 1-2 in their shortened series, due to the All-Star Break, against the Dunedin Blue Jays. The Mets outscored the Blue Jays, however, 23-16 over the three games thanks to a big 15-2 win. Syracuse is now 9-11 in the second half of the season and 47-48 overall.

Luis Robert Jr. played in two rehab games for the Syracuse Mets this past week and looked great, going 3-for-8 with a home run, a double and two walks. Following his rehab assignment, Robert Jr. was activated to the major league club Monday afternoon, joining the team for the first time since he got hurt in late April.

MJ Melendez continued his hot stretch with Triple-A Syracuse, going 7-for-13 in three games with three home runs and five RBIs. He also walked once and scored five runs. Melendez has a 1.018 OPS in 27 games with Syracuse.

Christopher Morel also had a strong week, going 6-for-12 with two home runs, a double and a walk. Morel drove in four runs and scored five. He has a 1.172 OPS in 11 games with Syracuse.

Jonah Tong had a strong start, tossing five innings and allowing two runs. He struck out just two but lowered his ERA to 5.83.

Robert Stock also had a solid start in his first Triple-A outing of the year, allowing one run in four innings. He struck out three and has a 3.00 ERA in the minors this season.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies got swept in three games to the Akron RubberDucks, losing by a combined score of 30-6. Binghamton’s dreadful season continues as they are now 6-15 in the second half of the season and 33-57 overall.

Nick Lorusso led the way at the plate, going 4-for-12 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Lorusso has been a bright spot for the Rumble Ponies, owning an .805 OPS in 74 games.

Gabriel Rodriguez tossed two hitless innings out of the bullpen, allowing just two walks with four strikeouts. Rodriguez owns a 4.04 ERA in 29 appearances with Binghamton.

Felipe De La Cruz also tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing just a hit with three strikeouts. He owns a 2.54 ERA in 22 games this year.

High-A

The Brooklyn Cyclones went 1-2 in their series against the Hudson Valley Renegades. After winning the first game 4-0, the Cyclones dropped a doubleheader by a combined score of 19-4. Brooklyn is now 12-11 in the second half of the season and 37-51 overall.

John Bay went 5-for-11 in three games, recording two doubles and a triple. Bay drove in a run and scored three while walking once and stealing a base. Bay owns a solid .818 OPS in 77 games this year.

Corey Collins also had a decent shortened series, going 3-for-7 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Collins owns a .791 OPS this year.

Noah Hall was stellar in a lengthy bullpen outing, throwing six scoreless innings with just one hit allowed. He walked two and hit a batter, also striking out five. Hall owns a 4.81 ERA in 18 games (15 starts) this year.

Jose Chirinos had the best start of the series, allowing three runs in five innings. He gave up four hits and a walk while striking out five. Chirinos has a 5.22 ERA in eight starts with Brooklyn.

Low-A

The St. Lucie Mets were the only one of the Mets’ four full-season affiliates to win their series this week, defeating the Palm Beach Cardinals two games to one. It was a relatively even series as both teams scored a combined 15 runs in the three games. The Mets are now 8-14 in the second half of the season and 41-47 overall.

Trey Snyder led his team with six hits, achieving that mark in just 12 at-bats. Snyder recorded two doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBIs. Snyder also walked and stole a base, improving his OPS to .765.

Elian Peña went 3-for-8 with a home run in just two games played, improving his OPS to .739.

Randy Guzman went 3-for-7 with a home run, also recording two walks. Guzman has been great this season, owning an .849 OPS in 53 games.

Ethan Lanthier had a short but productive start with no runs allowed. Lanthier allowed just one hit and one walk in 2 1/3 innings, striking out four. Lanthier has a 4.66 ERA in four starts with St. Lucie.

Joel Lara also started, allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings. He gave up four hits and three walks but struck out five. Lara owns a 5.54 ERA this season.

FCL Mets

The FCL Mets went 3-3 this past week, moving to 23-30 on the year.

Jacob Reimer had a strong three games on rehab, going 3-for-7 with a home run and two walks. Reimer also drove in two runs. Reimer has a .723 OPS in 50 games with Double-A Binghamton this year.

Eris Albino looked fantastic out of the bullpen, making one appearance and tossing 4 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out two. Albino has a 4.58 ERA in 11 appearances.

DSL Mets

The DSL Mets Blue and Orange squads both had a rough week, with each team going 1-3. The DSL Mets Blue are now 14-21 on the year, while the DSL Mets Orange are now 17-19.

Johnderis Sanchez did a little bit of everything for DSL Mets Blue, going 3-for-10 with a double, a home run, seven walks and five stolen bases. Sanchez owns a .991 OPS this season. On the mound, Anderson Ozuna tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Ozuna has a 1.93 ERA in three appearances this season.

Cesar Acosta had a solid week at the plate for DSL Mets Orange, going 4-for-12 with two doubles and two walks. Acosta owns an .809 OPS this season. Abner Meza shined on the mound with 5 1/3 scoreless innings and six strikeouts. Meza has a 1.78 ERA in seven starts.

Players of the Week

Offense – MJ Melendez, OF Syracuse

MJ Melendez showed flashes of offensive production at the big league level before encountering a rut that sent him back to the minors. Melendez has done nothing but mash since joining Syracuse, owning an OPS above 1.000 in over 100 plate appearances with the club. Melendez continues to serve as solid veteran depth for the Mets.

Pitching – Noah Hall, P Brooklyn

Noah Hall was the Mets’ seventh-round pick in 2023, and he’s regressed this season after a productive 2025 in which he had a 2.72 ERA in 25 games (21 starts). His last outing was dominant, however, and he’ll look to finish the season that way. He hasn’t allowed an earned run in over 17 innings.

The University of Arkansas product and the Mets officially came to an agreement, inking the 21-year-old to the full $3,466,500 slot value. He was the 16^th player to be selected in the first round from Arkansas in draft history. The Mets drafted him No. 27 overall.

Wiggins, brother of Chicago Cubs’ Top-100 prospect, Jaxon Wiggins, was ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 88 draft prospect, He was in New York on Tuesday and on Wednesday, where he donned No. 26 in the orange and blue.

“Wiggins is an electric arm, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the organization,” Mets vice president of amateur scouting Kris Gross said in a statement. “He’s an elite athlete that offers premium velocity, two swing-and-miss breaking pitches, and an emerging changeup. We are confident he will continue to grow in our player development system and are excited to watch what he can do.”

The righty out of the University of Arkansas had arguably the best fastball in the MLB draft, averaging 99 mph and touching 102 mph in 2025 prior to undergoing internal brace surgery.

His first time back on a mound prior to the draft was at the MLB Combine, where his fastball velocity was touching 92 – 97 mph over the course of eight pitches; his curveball hit 75-78 mph, with his changeup and cutter hitting 87 mph and his slider hitting 84.

The Mets potentially could slot Wiggins into minor league games, but that has yet to be determined.

With the signing of Wiggins, the Mets have now locked in their top draft pick since 2021, when it was just Kumar Rocker who went unsigned due to injury concerns.

Sunday was the final game for the top four Mets minor league affiliates, and winning was the topic of the day. Although Triple-A Syracuse’s game was canceled due to the field in Norfolk being deemed unplayable, Binghamton, Brooklyn, and St. Lucie all picked up wins, all carrying positive momentum into the All-Star break.

Marcus Semien began a rehab assignment in Double-A, belting a home run while going 2-for-3 in a 10-5 win. Luis Robert Jr. continued his assignment as well for Double-A, also tallying two hits in six at-bats.

Elian Peña showed a positive sign for St. Lucie, tallying two hits, after what has been a poor start to July for the Mets No. 6 prospect. The 18-year-old will look to continue some positive momentum into the second half of the season.

The hitting story for the Rumble Ponies on Sunday is vast, but promising games from two rehabbing major leaguers are the biggest story. Semien made his first rehab start back on Sunday, and promptly hit a three-run home run. On the other hand, Robert Jr. made his sixth rehab start, and third for Binghamton. In those contests, he is batting .304 with a .795 OPS, and adding a home run along the way. Both will return to Queens during the All-Star Break, and will take batting practice off of another rehabbing Met: Clay Holmes.

Correa has had a blistering start to July, settling nicely in Double-A after bouncing around three levels to begin this season. In 4.2 IP, Danis has yet to allow a run with nine strikeouts. However, his .235 average against and a 1.29 WHIP show that this trend may not last, but the 26-year-old will enjoy the performance as it lasts.

High-A

His saving grace in this slump is that he is still getting on base and wreaking havoc once he gets there, working seven walks and stealing five bases.

Jenkins is off to an excellent July for Brooklyn, sporting an ERA of 0.00 across 4.2 IP. The catch in that is that the right-hander has yet to allow a hit in those five appearances and has only allowed a single base runner. With the clock ticking on the 25-year-old, a promotion to Double-A makes a great deal of sense before the season’s end.

Peña had a good Sunday, tallying two hits out of the three-hole. The 18-year-old is hoping that Sunday’s performance will help to turn around a poor July to this point after the All-Star Break. In July, Peña is slashing just .229/.270/.257 with just one extra-base hit and two RBIs.

As St. Lucie heads into the second half of the season, Mejias and others will look to continue working on their control, as promotions to Single-A could be in order for those who show command.

The 2026 MLB Draft unconventionally began on Saturday this year. Saturday, in Philadelphia, featured picks number one through 135.

Meanwhile, the second day of the draft, which spans rounds five through 20, will be streamed on MLB.com, MLB TV, MLB+, beginning at 11:30 am ET.

In all, the Mets have a total draft pool of $6,730,900 (third-lowest in the majors). This lower figure is largely because their first pick was pushed back 10 spots for being over the luxury tax, and they lost their second and fourth highest picks due to signing Bo Bichette, who had the qualifying offer attached.

They did receive a fourth round pick when Edwin Díaz signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers after the Mets extended him the qualifying offer.

Carson Wiggins.

Round 1, Pick 27: Carson Wiggins, RHP

Ht: 6’5″ Wt: 215 lb. School: Arkansas Highest Ranking: #88 by MLB Pipeline

Quick Analysis:

Wiggins, 21, 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, did not pitch for Arkansas this season after internal brace surgery. But he threw as hard as 102 mph before the procedure and was healthy for the draft combine.

Wiggins pitched 14 relief innings for Arkansas in 2025, allowing six runs (five earned) for a 3.21 ERA. He struck out 20, walked nine and hit a batter.

Quick Analysis:

A 21-year-old outfielder out of the University of Texas, Aiden Robbins also played two seasons at Seton Hall. Robbins slashed .333/.426/.696 (1.122 OPS) with 24 home runs and 64 RBIs in 60 games for the Longhorns this year. He stole 12 bases in 13 attempts. Robbins also worked 39 walks and struck out 65 times across 284 plate appearances.

Shane Sdoa is a 22-year-old left-handed pitcher who had a tough year with the Texas A&M Aggies, pitching to a 7.03 ERA over 71 2/3 innings and coughing up 16 homers. He struck out 83 and walked 21. Sdao missed 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Aloy slashed .293/.352/.486 (.838 OPS) this past season across 181 at-bats. He hit nine homers and drove in 41 runs. It was a down year compared to the 2025 season when he had a .943 OPS with 13 homers, 70 RBIs and a .317 batting average.

Aloy also played in the Cape Cod League in 2025, posting a .333/.463/.500 (.963 OPS) slash line with six extra-base hits over 54 at-bats.

Quick Analysis:

Krodel had a 5.66 ERA across 35 innings out of the bullpen in 2026. He was terrific in the 2025 California Collegiate League posting a 1.74 ERA in 31 innings.

He is a bit of a soft-tosser with a low 90 mph-range fastball.

Ht: 6’4″ Wt: 215 lb. School: Notre Dame HS Highest Ranking: #171 by MLB Pipeline

Quick Analysis:

Madrid was the first high school player the Mets selected in the draft. He was ranked 171st by MLB Pipeline, which shows strong value at No. 390 overall. Sign-ability is a question as he is committed to the University of Oregon, thus the fall.

Madrid is praised for his defensive game, given a 65 grade arm and 55 grade fielding ability by MLB Pipeline. He is already extremely refined defensively.

Round 14, Pick 420: Zach Crotchfelt, LHP

Ht: 6’3″ Wt: 220 lb. School: Troy Highest Ranking: #325 by Baseball America

Quick Analysis:

Crotchfelt had a 3.49 ERA across 67 innings primarily out of the bullpen for the Troy Trojan in 2026. He had a very strong 81:23 K/BB ratio.

He was at Texas Tech previously to transferring to Troy. Crotchfelt went to Jackson Memorial High School in New Jersey.

Round 16, Pick 480: Gavin Guidry, RHP

Quick Analysis:

Guidry had a 6.39 ERA with a strong 59 strikeouts across 43 2/3 innings for LSU in 2026. He appeared in 20 games, making three starts.

He also played in the Cape Cod League this past season, serving exclusively as a starter. In doing so, he posted a 5.82 ERA and 20 strikeouts across 17 innings of work.

His best season came across 22 relief appearances in 2024. He posted a 2.59 ERA and struck out 36 across 24 1/3 total innings.

He did not play in 2025 due to a back injury.

Round 17, Pick 510: Cooper Dossett, RHP

Ht: 6″ Wt: 210 lb. School: Arkansas Highest Ranking: N/A

Quick Analysis:

Dossett struggled in 2026 for the Razorbacks posting a 6.88 ERA across 16 appearances, mainly out of the bullpen. He struck out 18 and walked 12 across these appearances.

He transferred in from Green Bay of the Summit League following the 2023 season. He had a 4.83 ERA across 31 2/3 innings with 43 strikeouts that season.

Dossett also appeared in the MLB Developmental League in 2026. He tossed 3 2/3 innings across three appearances and did not allow an earned run.

Round 18, Pick 540: Marcus Ward, OF

Quick Analysis:

Smith played 2026 with the UCF Knights in the Big 12. He slashed .322/.383/.574 (.958 OPS) with 12 homers, 49 RBIs, and 26 total extra-base hits. Smith only struck out 31 times across his 227 plate appearances.

The Florida-born outfielder transferred in from South Alabama of the Sun Belt. He improved on a .877 OPS in 2024 with the Jaguars despite a jump up in competition this past season.

Round 20, Pick 600: Kooper Schulte, SS

Quick Analysis:

Schulte played his college baseball at Iowa for the Hawkeyes. He posted a .274/.355/.484 (.840 OPS) across 261 plate appearances in 2026. He stole 11 bases and was only caught twice. Schulte had a .711 OPS across 123 at-bats in 2025 for Iowa; so a strong improvement year-over-year.

He played in the Prospect League in 2025 posting a very strong .341 batting average and .943 OPS. He drove in 48 runs across 185 at-bats.

“Did not see this coming at all,” Wiggins told SNY. “So I think the Mets taking a chance on me is very surreal to me and I’ve wanted this since I was a little kid.”

Wiggins, 21, 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, did not pitch for Arkansas this season after internal brace surgery. But he threw as hard as 102 mph before the procedure and was healthy for the draft combine, where he impressed scouts with his fastball and slider, per David Schoenfield of ESPN. Wiggins pitched 14 relief innings for Arkansas in 2025, allowing six runs (five earned) for a 3.21 ERA. He struck out 20, walked nine and hit a batter. His 23-year-old brother, Jaxon, who is 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, was selected by the Cubs in the second round of the 2023 draft out of Arkansas. Jaxon Wiggins is the Cubs’ top pitching prospect and the No. 90 MLB prospect overall on MLB Pipeline.

Keith Law of The Athletic, a Blue Jays front office executive from 2002-2006, labeled Carson Wiggins the “most interesting” pick of the first round.

“I don’t know if I think it’s a good pick, as I had Wiggins at No. 72 on my board, and if he’s only a reliever that’s not an ideal use of a first-round pick, but it is definitely interesting.” Law wrote. He said because Wiggins hasn’t pitched this year, he could be ready to go as soon as he signs, which is unusual for a pitcher selected out of college. He said the Mets could even throw him straight into the fire at the major-league level.

Schoenfield of ESPN, who had Wiggins at No. 90 on his board, wrote: “There’s a lot of unknown here and reliever risk, but the stuff makes him an intriguing selection.”

MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo wrote: “This one is super interesting. When healthy, Wiggins arguably has the best fastball in the class, averaging 98.7 mph with late hop and carry.”

The Mets’ next pick was in the third round at No. 92, where they took Aiden Robbins, a 21-year-old outfielder out of the University of Texas who also played two seasons at Seton Hall. Ironically, there was some pre-draft talk of the Mets taking Robbins with their first-round pick.

Robbins slashed .333/.426/.696 (1.122 OPS) with 24 home runs and 64 RBIs in 60 games for the Longhorns this year. He stole 12 bases in 13 attempts. He worked 39 walks and struck out 65 times in 284 plate appearances. He bats and throw right and is listed at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds.

Shane Sdao.

In the fourth round, the Mets took pitcher Shane Sdao from Texas A&M University. The 22-year-old lefty had a tough year with the Aggies, pitching to a 7.03 ERA over 71 2/3 innings and coughing up 16 homers. He struck out 83 and walked 21. Sdao missed 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery and scouts believe he will improve with time. Chris Bello of MMO has more on Sdao here.

If the Mets do go into fire sale mode, Lavender is the prime candidate to come up, striking out 60 batters in 35+ innings.

In his start, he allowed just a hit and three walks in seven scoreless innings. Wenninger struck out five in what was easily his best start of the season. He now has a 3.48 ERA in 16 appearances (13 starts).

Triple-A

The Syracuse Mets lost four out of six games in their series against the Worcester Red Sox. After dropping each of the first three games, Syracuse rallied to win two of the final three. The Mets are now 6-6 in the second half and 44-43 overall.

MJ Melendez went 6-for-21 in addition to the four home runs he hit this week. He totaled seven RBIs and also added three walks, leading or tying for the team lead in each of these categories. Melendez now owns an .869 OPS with Syracuse this season.

Jorge Polanco also had a successful week as he continues to rehab his way back to the major league club. Polanco went 2-for-12. Both of his hits left the park. He also walked twice and didn’t strike out once. Polanco has a .623 OPS in eight rehab games at the Triple-A level. The primary goal here is health and timing.

Nick Morabito continues to thrive, as he went 8-for-22 with a double and a home run. He added a walk and a stolen base while driving in three runs. Morabito now owns a .798 OPS. You could see a world where he gets more reps at the MLB level if/when the Mets sell off some pieces.

Zach Thornton also had a successful start, allowing three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings. Thornton allowed three hits and four walks while striking out four. His Triple-A ERA now sits at 4.54. He, like Morabito, should get more MLB run after the trade deadline.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Chesapeake Baysox played five games in their series due to rain, and the Rumble Ponies struggled with just one win. Binghamton’s struggles from the first half of the season have spilled into the second half, as they are just 2-10 and 29-52 overall.

Matt Rudick went 5-for-14 against the Baysox, hitting a home run, walking four times and stealing three bags. It was a good week at the plate for the struggling Rudick, who sports a .560 OPS.

Nick Lorusso had a similar week to Rudick, going 4-for-16 with a home run and also recording four walks and three stolen bases. Unlike Rudick, however, Lorusso has been playing well and now owns a .790 OPS.

JT Schwartz also powered Binghamton’s offense, going 5-for-20 with three doubles and a home run. Schwartz added two walks and led his team with four RBIs. He now owns a .676 OPS.

Jonathan Santucci made two starts and looked fantastic. The lefty, one of the Mets’ top pitching prospects, allowed two runs across eight innings with an impressive 13 strikeouts. He also allowed just two hits and five walks. He now has a 3.77 ERA through 16 starts. He ought to be promoted to Triple-A by the end of the season.

R.J. Gordon gave up nothing in his five-inning start. He allowed five hits and a walk while striking out two. Gordon has struggled in 10 starts to the tune of a 6.61 ERA.

High-A

The Brooklyn Cyclones went 2-3 against the Frederick Keys, with the final game in their series suspended due to rain while in a 2-2 tie. The game will be completed on September 1. The Cyclones are now 7-7 in the second half and 32-47 overall.

Yohairo Cuevas led Brooklyn’s offense by going 5-for-13 with three home runs and nine RBIs, both leading the team. He also walked four times as he improved his season OPS to .632.

JT Benson stayed hot as well, going 6-for-16 with a double and a home run. He also added two walks and a stolen base while driving in three runs. Benson continues to crush the competition at High-A, owning a .938 OPS in 33 games. The 24-year-old has had one of the stronger showings in the Mets’ minor league system this year, and he may be rewarded with another promotion before the end of the season.

Mitch Voit showed off some pop with a strong week, going 4-for-19 with two home runs and three walks. Voit’s numbers have crept up since the beginning of the year, and he now sports a .763 OPS.

Daviel Hurtado shoved in his start, allowing just a hit and a walk in six innings. He also struck out eight in the effort, and he now has a 1.49 ERA in eight appearances at the High-A level.

Noah Hall also shoved in his start, allowing no runs in 5 1/3 innings. He allowed a hit and four walks while striking out eight. Hall now has a 5.63 ERA on the season.

Low-A

The St. Lucie Mets had a dreadful series against the Tampa Tarpons, losing the first five games of the series before winning the finale. The Mets are now 3-10 in the second half and 36-43 overall.

Trey Snyder was one of the Mets’ few bright spots in this series, going 7-for-20 with two doubles, a walk and two stolen bases. Snyder owns a .650 OPS in 22 games with St. Lucie.

Antonio Jimenez also did his part, going 6-for-21 with two doubles and a home run. Jimenez now owns a .711 OPS through 31 games.

Simon Juan led the team with two home runs, doing so on three hits in 16 at-bats. Juan also walked once and stole a base while leading the team with four runs driven in. Juan has just a .571 OPS on the season.

Elian Peña struggled mightily, going 2-for-18 with five strikeouts, a walk and two stolen bases. His OPS has fallen to .731.

Christian Rodriguez had an effective, albeit short, start as he allowed just a run in 3 2/3 innings. He allowed seven hits and no walks but also struck out seven. Rodriguez owns a 3.32 ERA in 22 appearances.

Trey McLoughlin was phenomenal out of the bullpen, striking out eight in 3 2/3 hitless innings. His only baserunner allowed was a walk. McLoughlin owns a 7.36 ERA in 20 relief appearances.

Yovanny Rodriguez

FCL Mets

The FCL Mets looked good, going 3-1 in the last week of play. They are now 19-25 and in fourth place in the Florida Complex League East Division.

Yovanny Rodriguez went 6-for-11 at the plate with a double and three runs driven in. He also added a walk as he improved his OPS through 38 FCL games to .889.

Eris Albino tossed four scoreless innings out of the bullpen for the FCL Mets, allowing two hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Albino has a 5.86 ERA in nine relief appearances.

DSL Mets

The DSL Mets Blue went 2-4 this past week, driving their record down to 11-15. The DSL Mets Orange also struggled, going 1-5 to fall to 14-13.

Royner Bravo looked good for the second consecutive week for DSL Mets Blue, going 6-for-12 with a triple, two walks and a stolen base. He also added four RBIs as he now sports an .842 OPS. On the mound, Eduardo Pina tossed four scoreless innings in his start, allowing five baserunners with one strikeouts. Pina has a 1.59 ERA in five appearances.

In three games for DSL Mets Orange, top prospect Wandy Asigen went 1-for-5 with five walks and two RBIs. The hit, a single, is Asigen’s first of his pro career with the Mets. On the mound, Oscar Montero tossed three scoreless innings with one hit allowed, three walks, allowed and five strikeouts. Montero owns a 9.28 ERA in five starts.

Players of the Week

MJ Melendez spent a lengthy portion of this season in the major leagues, but now he’s doing his damage in Triple-A after a demotion. The veteran had a fantastic week, in which he certainly looked better than the competition he faced. He’s likely to be one of the first position players called back up to the majors in the event of an injury or trade.

Pitching – Jack Wenninger, P Syracuse

Jack Wenninger opened the season in underwhelming fashion, but he delivered a gem in his latest outing and looks to be back in form. The 24-year-old who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 draft by the Mets is a promising prospect, alongside guys like Jonah Tong and Jonathan Santucci, whom the Mets are hoping will be the next wave of impact pitchers in the major leagues.

Another Sunday has come and gone for the Mets affiliates, and little progress has been made from a winning point of view. The organization went 1-2, with rehabbing major leaguers working their way back, a couple of positive pitching outings, and poor team play. While St. Lucie (Single-A) picked up a win, Triple-A and Double-A lost, and High-A Brooklyn finished in a suspended contest tied 2-2 in the eighth inning.

Jorge Polanco and Dedniel Núñez continued rehab assignments, with both seeing positive results. Polanco hit a two-run home run for Syracuse (Triple-A) while Núñez pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Rumble Ponies (Double-A).

Jonathan Santucci continued his recent success, earning a quality start in his six innings while striking out 10 in the Binghamton loss.

In what could be the right-hander’s last chance to play in the majors, he is certainly making his case, especially with the big league club looking to be selling at the trade deadline.

Should Santucci continue the strong pitching while getting his command a bit more under control, he could be promoted in August as Triple-A prospects graduate to the majors.
