Now that the Mets have finally inked their first round pick Brandon Nimmo to a contract, we can all finally relax.  It would have been a devastating blow had he not signed, especially with the lack of production we are getting from our young hitting prospects down in the minors.  Now that he has signed on the dotted line, the question now becomes when will we see him on the field?

MetsMinorLeagueBlog is reporting that he is on his way to Port St. Lucie now.  I assume he is going down now to begin some baseball workouts.  They are also reporting that he is scheduled to be on the field by the end of next week.

I am really excited that they are getting him on the field so quickly.  With his 5-tool potential I really can not wait to see this young kid in action, and to see what types of skills he brings to the table.  Of our recent first round selections, Nimmo might be the most talented overall.  In a total package his blend of size, speed, and power are unmatched in the Mets farm system. Going into next season he is but assured to be on the Mets top 10 list of prospects, possibly even in the top 5.

As soon as we know exactly when he will be playing his first game we will let you know!
