According to Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com, the three finalists for the Mets GM opening are Chaim Bloom, Doug Melvin, and Brodie Van Wagenen.

Kim Ng, Dave Littlefield, and Casey Close have been eliminated from consideration.

Melvin, 66, is the current Brewers President of Baseball Operations. He is an old-fashioned general manager with an eye for scouting and development.

Bloom, 35, is the current senior vice president of baseball operations for the Tampa Bay Rays. He is one of the bright young minds in baseball, and is very analytically driven.

Van Wagenen, 44, is the Co-Head of CAA Sports Agency Baseball Division. He is well respected in baseball, and his agency holds the rights to multiple stars including Yoenis Cespedes, Jacob deGrom, and Noah Syndergaard.

According to MMO’s Michael Mayer, a source listed Melvin as the current favorite for the job, followed by Bloom and then Van Wagenen.

Fred and Jeff Wilpon will be conducting call-back interviews beginning tomorrow.
