The New York Mets have re-assigned outfielder Gregor Blanco and infielder Danny Espinosa to minor-league camp, as per an announcement from the team.

Blanco, 35, went 4-for-31 this spring (.129/.206/.194) with a triple, two runs batted in, and nine strikeouts, playing all three outfield positions (14 putouts in 14 chances) after signing a minor-league contract with the Mets in December, the same day the signed Rajai Davis to a minor-league deal.

Espinosa, 31, appeared in 14 games for the Mets this spring — all at second base (no errors in 24 innings) — while going 2-for-30 at the plate, albeit with just six strikeouts.

Whether either or both players are Triple-A Syracuse bound is yet to be determined, but we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
