Billy McKinney was scratched from Saturday’s lineup versus the Padres with right knee soreness, according to David Lennon. He was slated to bat sixth and start in right field.

Mason Williams will start in his place.

The outfielder left Tuesday’s rout at the hands of the Orioles a couple innings early, presumably to give him some extra rest. He had most of June 2’s game versus the Diamondbacks off, too, and only pinch hit in June 4’s game against the Padres. He’s appeared in every game since joining the Mets, though.

McKinney’s been on a tear since joining the Mets with a 1.106 OPS and a 197 wRC+ over 47 plate appearances. McKinney had two more doubles–that’s five now since May 27–Friday night, one of them producing the first run of the game. (DeGrom supplied the other two RBI, of course.)

Check out the lineup (with Williams in for McKinney, of course) for Saturday’s game below.
