The Mets’ Opening Day 26-man roster is continuing to take shape, with the team announcing that Brett Baty, Max Kranick, A.J. Minter, Huascar Brazobán and Hayden Senger will officially be suiting up for Thursday’s game against the Astros.
Multiple reporters say young infielder Luisangel Acuña will round out the Mets’ Opening Day roster.
When Senger gets into a game, it will be his major league debut after spending the last six seasons in the Mets minor leagues. The 24th round pick started his minor league career with the Kingsport Mets, a team that no longer exists.
Kranick is on the Opening Day roster of his favorite team. Growing up, he would come to watch the Mets on Sundays with his dad.
The graphic below shows the Mets’ expected 2025 Opening Day roster, though the Mets have not officially announced.

The team also announced that Paul Blackburn will start the season on the Injured List with right knee inflammation. According to Stearns, he won’t throw for 7-10 days but is expected back in April. With the opening schedule littered with off days, the Mets are starting the year with a five-man rotation, and Blackburn could very well be back by the time they need a sixth starter.
