The deadline to reach agreements with arbitration-eligible players is coming right up on Friday. The Mets have seven players that they would currently go to arbitration with. They had eight arbitration-eligible players to start the offseason, but they non-tendered Dominic Smith (signed with Nationals), picked up their option on Daniel Vogelbach and already agreed to pay Joey Lucchesi $1.15 million (exact number MLBTR predicted) for the 2023 season. They also acquired right-handers Elieser Hernández and Jeff Brigham from the Marlins.

Once the deadline passes on Friday, the team will put in what they believe is the value for each player and the player puts in what they believe they are worth. An arbitrator then decides what the player’s salary will be for the upcoming season.

Here are the estimates from MLB Trade Rumors for the remaining arbitration-eligible Mets:

Alonso has earned that number–over a 100% raise–after blasting 40 home runs and setting a team record with 131 RBIs. The Mets should probably think about approaching Alonso with an extension at some point soon with him scheduled to become a free agent following the 2024 season.

McNeil will be a free agent after the 2024 season as well and is another potential target for the Mets to extend long-term.
