An update on Amed Rosario’s injury…

Mets manager Mickey Callaway said following Monday’s game that Rosario’s MRI on his upper leg came back clean.

The shortstop is considered day-to-day and his knee is feeling better.

Original report: March 3 – 2:47 p.m.

Amed Rosario was removed from today’s game against the Miami Marlins in the second inning after being hit by a pitch.

The Mets shortly thereafter announced that Amed Rosario was removed from the game with left knee irritation.

As Joel Sherman of the New York Post writes, Rosario said after the game that he felt pain rounding third base, but decided to stay in initially. After the pain did not subside, he was removed from the game. The plan as of now is to see how he feels in the morning

While Rosario does not believe the injury is too serious, the team will likely be cautious with the young shortstop considering it is Spring Training there is no need to rush him yet.

The 22-year old has three hits in 12 at-bats so far this spring. In 2017, he made 170 trips to the plate with New York and hit .248/.271/.394 with four homers and 10 RBI.
