This morning, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association announced the full roster of players traveling to Japan to represent the MLB team in the 2018 Japan All-Star series.
New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario will be touring with the team, and is the Mets lone representative on the roster.
Rosario is coming off an up-and-down first full season in the big leagues. In the second half, he took some major strides forward and showed flashes of his top prospect potential.
Over 64 games post All Star break, Rosario hit .268/.302/.383 with ten doubles, five home runs, and eighteen stolen bases. The 22-year old could be in for a breakout 2019 season.
Rosario is joined on the infield by Carlos Santana of the Phillies, Whit Merrifield of the Royals, Eugenio Suarez of the Reds, and Chris Taylor of the Dodgers.
You can check out the rest of the official roster, led by Marlins skipper Don Mattingly, here.
This marks the 37th time that MLB has taken the tour over in Japan, and they last participated in the event in 2014. The baseball tradition dates all the way back to 1908.
The seven game series kicks off with an exhibition against the Yomiuri Giants at the Tokyo Dome on November 8. All seven games will be broadcasted live on MLB Network.
