New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario was one of the lone bright spots for the MLB All-Star team that went just 1-5 in the 2018 Japan All-Star series that ended on Thursday morning.

Rosario, 22, went 8-for-19 with two doubles, two stolen bases, one home run and five runs scored for the MLB team in four games. He finished hitting .471 with a 1.265 OPS.

The strong showing for Rosario comes on the heels of an encouraging finish to what overall was a disappointing 2018 season. Rosario hit .285/.319/.416 with 15 stolen bases in his last 53 games. Rosario also looked much better defensively down the stretch.

Rosario finished the 2018 season posting a 1.5 fWAR and 0.6 bWAR in 154 games for the Mets.
