lagares conforto

There’s something special in the air, my friends. You can feel it with every breathtaking extra-base hit off the bat of Michael Conforto. You can sense it with every swing and a miss on a knee-buckling Noah Syndergaard breaking ball. You can see it every time Neil Walker and Asdrubal Cabrera turn another improbable a year ago double play. You can hear it by the unmistakable sound the bat makes whenever Yoenis Cespedes launches another baseball out of the park. Can you hear it? Can you see it? Can you feel it? Surrender to it and enjoy what will be one of the most thrilling and exciting Mets seasons we’ve ever experienced.

The Mets wrapped up their first month of the season with domination and flair. After a 2-5 start that had many fans crawling out to their ledges and some bloggers and beat writers pushing the panic button, manager Terry Collins pushed all the right buttons and bolstered by Neil Walker, Michael Conforto and Yoenis Cespedes, the Amazins finished out the month of April with an impressive 13-2 run.

In fact, they didn’t just win games, but they have pummeled the competition, and have won their last five series in a row – including taking down playoff contenders like San Francisco and Cleveland. The one word I would use to describe the Mets right now is Juggernaut. Five more months like this one and the Mets will win 110 games. Let that roll around in your heads for a little bit – especially all you worry warts and whiners out there.
