We may not have seen the end of Jose Reyes in a Mets uniform.

Speaking Wednesday night, general manager Sandy Alderson fielded a question about the infielder and said there isn’t a downside to bringing him back to Queens in 2018.

“[He] had an unusual season last year,” Alderson said, according to Chris the Teacher on Twitter. “In that he was poor in the first half and outstanding in the second half. It’s possible he can be a second baseman for us.”

Reyes, 34, hit .246/.315/.413 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI across 561 plate appearances.

This offseason, the Mets have been linked to several second base options, but as the names start to dwindle, it seems more and more apparent that they will consider Reyes.
