Happy New Year to all of you…
I can’t say goodbye to 2015 without first saying ‘thank you’ to all of the incredible readers and writers that make up this wonderful community we call Metsmerized Online.
I cannot believe we are wrapping up our 11th year at MMO. Since day one, our goal has always been to create a Mets Fan Site that truly represented all of us; guys and gals, young and old, optimists and pessimists.
And guess what? Thanks to over 30,000 of you who visit this site each day, we have succeeded and together we’ve created something truly remarkable and special.
Tonight at midnight, when I lift up my glass of champagne it will be to toast all of you. You are truly the greatest baseball fans in the world and don’t you ever forget it.
I’m incredibly grateful to count myself as one of you, a true diehard fan with a burning desire to see our team win another championship. Our love for the Mets binds us together into one huge extended family.
As we bid a fond farewell to 2015, it is with the knowledge that our team has finally turned a corner and entered into that glorious sunshine we kept hearing about, after years of waiting and hoping in the shadows.
Whether you like the players we’ve just acquired or not, you have to be happy that the New York Mets are relevant again and we enter the new season as the defending National League Champions. Can you believe it?!
Let’s hope that the new year brings us even more to enjoy and to cheer about. I’m looking forward to watching all our young up and coming stars take that next step in their development, while our veterans stay healthy and provide the production and leadership we need.
But as we break out the champagne and get ready to close out an old year and ring in a new one, I just want to thank all of you for your amazing support.
