Just a quick thought on something Adma Rubin just tweeted about Ike Davis:

If you look at David Wright’s OPS which is a team leading .895 and also top ten in the NL, you would think he’d be infinitely ahead of Ike Davis in the RBI department considering Davis has just a .754 OPS. That’s a difference of almost 150 points.

Wright’s On-Base Percentage is over 100 points higher than Ike’s which stands at what some would consider (not me) an unsightly .305.

David Wright also has almost 100 more plate appearances than Davis this season and their batting averages are a chasm apart.

So while Davis may be looked upon as having a bad season in 2012, or maybe we’ll say an underwhelming season, he has been the team’s best run producer – at least in 2012.

Give Ike a tip of your hat today.
