What an utterly deflating, totally debilitating loss.

Does this team have any heroes?

Sure we have a bunch of stars, but the questions is, does this team have anyone who is willing to carry the team over the top and into the post season?

When does the agony of the 2007 season end?

How can it end when the Mets themselves keep bringing it up?

John Lannan, who was lit up by the Mets only last week, limited the Mets to one hit in seven innings tonight… One damned hit.. By Brian Schneider of all people…

David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado went 0 for 11 in the middle of the order. <Gag me with a spoon!>

Pedro took the loss… Deservingly so…

Duaner Sanchez sealed our faith by putting two Nationals on base, and then serving up a 3-run moon shot to Elijah Dukes. <Somebody nuke the bullpen!>

And now, the Mets lead the division by just a half-game… Five days ago it was a 3 1/2 game lead.

Is this really happening or is it just a recurring nightmare?
