In one of the wildest games you’ll ever see, the Mets beat the Miami Marlins 15-14 on Wednesday to complete the sweep. New York blew a 8-0 lead, then went up 14-8, and finally staved off a ninth-inning rally for the win. The two teams combined for 35 hits and used 15 pitchers. “We got the two-point conversion on one of the touchdowns for the win,” quipped manager Andy Green. In fact, the game was higher scoring than the NFL season opener last night.
The Mets have a welcome day off after all those trips around the basepaths. They start round two of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.
