Tuesday was a day full of minor league Mets offense with home runs coming in bunches. Jonathan Santucci had another strong start, Irving Cota and Ryan Lambert looked good in their rehab assignments, and Aiden Robbins began his Brooklyn tenure with a bang.

Triple-A

Syracuse (69-63) 7, Rochester (80-51) 4

Box Score

Many of the regular starters at Syracuse were not in the lineup Tuesday, but that did not stop them from logging seven runs on 12 hits. Nick Lorusso and Hayden Senger both logged three hits and combined for three of the runs scored. The big hits came from home runs by Amick and Wagaman.

  • LHP Jonathan Santucci: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K (W)
  • RHP Matt Seelinger: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
  • RHP Ben Simon: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (H)
  • RHP Brian Metoyer: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (S)

Santucci had another strong start, striking out six and only walking one. He threw 79 pitches and went five innings. His fastball averaged near 95 mph again and his slider looked the best it has in Syracuse. He ran an incredible 52.6% whiff rate on the pitch and a 38.1% whiff rate overall. After an adjustment period, Santucci has looked strong for two starts in a row.

Double-A

Binghamton (57-70) 4, New Hampshire (56-69) 3

Box Score

Suero is coming off a hot August and while he did not get a hit in this game, he got on base twice and stole two bases. Rojas continues to get hits and Marco Vargas stayed hot with two more hits, raising his season average to .269. Corey Collins has been amazing his first 35 games at the Double-A level with a .953 OPS.

Gill Hill only pitched four innings and was good, not great, striking out four and walking only one. The only run allowed after him was unearned while Stratton logged another save. Stratton is an exciting arm to watch as he could make the majors at some point in 2027.

High-A

Frederick (79-45) 6, Brooklyn Cyclones (56-70) 4

Box Score

The big offensive story was Robbins crushing a home run around 108 mph that went over 400 feet. He ended up logging two hits this game. Snyder, meanwhile, is hitting .278 and coming up on a .700 OPS. The power has not shown up in Brooklyn but he is getting his hits in.

After a strong August, Carreno struggled in a rainy 1 2/3 innings pitched before the game ended up delayed giving up three runs and walking four. Control seemed to be an issue throughout the game for the Cyclones and every pitcher walked at least one batter. Lambert was the only reliever to strike out more than one.

Frederick (50-29) 3, Brooklyn Cyclones (32-48) 2 / Completion of Aug. 16 Game

Box Score

  • SS Mitch Voit: 1-for-3, 1 H, 2 RBI
  • SS Elian Peña: 0-for-0, BB
  • LF Trey Snyder: 0-for-1
  • CF Aiden Robbins: 0-for-1

The first Brooklyn game on Tuesday was actually a completion of a game from August 16, when the roster was much different. However, neither version of the offenses blew down the doors while Aiden Robbins struck out in his first High-A at bat.

Unfortunately, despite the game being postponed with a tie when the game returned and went into extra innings the bullpen gave up the lead in the 10th inning, with no help from the defense.

Single-A

St. Lucie (55-71) 7, Jupiter (60-64) 6

Box Score

Agbayani logged a double in his first hit with the Mets coming off the injured list. Walks were the key to this win as St. Lucie walked eight times with five hits. Those hits included a game-tying three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

This was not a strong performance from the pitching staff but it was enough to get a win. The real pitching excitement is that Cota looked great in his rehab appearance. He averaged just shy of 94 mph on his fastball and showed off good spin on his curveball. He ran a 50% whiff rate and struck out two.
