Elian Peña will be the youngest player in High-A after earning a promotion. Newly acquired Billy Amick‘s seven home runs in 12 games at Double-A Binghamton were enough to send him to the next level. Christopher Morel will be back in the majors again after mashing at Triple-A Syracuse.

The Mets handed out five promotions over the last two days. Émilien Pitre advanced to Triple-A Syracuse Sunday when the Peña and Morel moves were announced as well. On Monday, Amick was told to pack for Syracuse and infielder Jamari Baylor earned his way to Double-A.

Peña, who will turn 19 in October, hit .271/.388/.397 with eight homers and 44 RBIs in 96 games and 439 plate appearances for Low-A St. Lucie. He stole 28 bases in 37 attempts. He needs work on defense. He committed 25 errors in 87 starts at shortstop.

Amick, acquired from the Twins with Bruin Agbayani in the trade of A.J. Minter, caught fire on arrival. He went 14-for-46 with seven homers, a double and 22 RBIs for the Rumble Ponies. He hit 23 homers for Double-A Wichita before the trade and his slash line for the two Double-A teams combined is .228/.345/.521. The 23-year-old was a second-round pick in the 2024 draft out of the University of Tennessee.

Morel, 27, was signed in July five days after the Marlins released him. He hit 12 homers and slashed .321/.382/.716 in 31 games with Syracuse. MMO’s Mathias Altman-Kurosaki covered Morel’s promotion here.

Pitre, 23, picked up with pitcher Gary Gill Hill and outfielder Aidan Smith from the Rays in the Freddy Peralta deal, went 15-for-40 with a .761 OPS in 10 games with Binghamton. He hit .323/.451/.492 with three homers in 37 games for Double-A Montgomery before he was traded. He was also a second round pick in the 2024 draft, taken out of the University of Kentucky.

Baylor, 25, started the year in an independent league and played 17 games for St. Lucie (four homers, .842 OPS) before being moved up to Brooklyn, where he slashed .256/.427/.422 with three homers over 31 games before earning this second promotion.
