Mets Minors Recap: Santucci Notches Career-High in Strikeouts

Jonathan Santucci set a career-high in strikeouts, punching out 13 of the 17 batters he retired in Double-A Binghamton’s 7-3 loss Sunday to Akron. But he also gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits, walked two, threw a wild pitch and took the loss.

The lefty has fanned 31 and walked seven in his last three starts. The Mets selected him in the second round of the 2024 Draft out of Duke, and he pitched to a 3.06 ERA in 117 2/3 innings between Binghamton and Brooklyn in 2025. His ERA this year is at 3.78, which leads the team and is fourth in the Eastern League.

He is ranked the team’s third-best pitching prospect on MLB Pipeline behind Jonah Tong and Jack Wenninger.

It was the first four-hit game of the year for Snyder, 20, who was a fifth-round pick in 2024 out of a Missouri high school. He has improved his slash line across the board from a year ago when he posted a .624 OPS in 115 games with St. Lucie last year.
