The 2025 Arizona Fall League has seen three Mets hitters in catcher Chris Suero, centerfielder Nick Morabito and left fielder D’Andre Smith and four Mets pitchers in RHP’s Austin Troesser, Brett Banks, Jordan Geber and Ernesto Mercedes get action in the games and we will take a look at how they have all performed thus far.

Mets AFL Hitters
Chris Suero, Catcher/LF
Chris Suero, 21, has been one of the faster risers in the Mets farm system with a power/speed combination that is rare at the catcher position. Suero is the youngest Mets prospect in Arizona, but by his results you wouldn’t be able to tell. All Suero has done is slash .242/.306/.545 for an .851 OPS and is tied for the team lead with three home runs as well as four stolen bases. Suero has struck out in 12 of his 33 at-bats, which has been similar to his near 30% K rate for the 2025 season in the minors.
While Suero is a catcher by trade, he is raw behind the plate and profiles more as a bat-first catcher, but the Mets as well as the Scottsdale Scorpions have been playing him in left field and his athleticism has allowed him to make some good plays. Suero is one of the best hitters on the team that is featuring two top-100 prospects.
Nick Morabito, CF
Morabito, 22, is a hitting machine, plain and simple. He has slashed .324/.419/.405 for an .820 OPS. Morabito has 12 hits, and only two of them have gone for extra-bases. Morabito has shown the ability to get the bat on the ball and when he gets on the bases, use his speed as evidenced by his team-leading eight stolen bases.
Morabito may profile best as a fourth outfielder who will rely on strong defense and his speed to carve out a role at the MLB level.
LF D’Andre Smith
Smith, 24, had a bit of a breakout toward the end of the 2025 minor league season but hasn’t experienced the same success in Arizona. Smith is slashing .185/.353/.296 for a .649 OPS. He is second on the team with six stolen bases and three of his five hits have gone for extra-bases
Smith who has a utility profile, has been playing the outfield for the Scorpions and is trying to prove to the Mets that he can help them after hitting a career-high eight home runs and stealing 33 bases in the minor league regular season.

Mets AFL Pitchers
RHP Austin Troesser
Troesser, 23, missed the majority of the 2025 season due to injury and was sent to Arizona to get some work in and has experienced mixed results. He has the lowest ERA of any Mets pitcher in Arizona with a 3.86 ERA and has struck out and walked four batters in 4 2/3 innings.
Troesser has never pitched above A ball and will probably look to repeat the level since he only pitched 16 innings in 2025.
RHP Brett Banks
Banks, 24, the hard throwing 2023 draft pick came to Arizona to further his prospect stock, and has struck out eight batters over four innings while walking two. Unfortunately, he has given up four runs on six hits, leaving him with an ugly 9.00 ERA. Banks has potential, but with no experience above A-ball as well, the organization is just looking into getting him some work.
RHP Jordan Geber
Geber, 26, has been in the Mets organization since 2022 and spent the 2025 season between AA and AAA, pitching to a 4.33 ERA between both levels. He has thrown one inning in Arizona, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two leaving him with an 18.00 ERA
Geber profiles as an organizational pitcher as he has both started and relieved in his career, but made over two-thirds of his appearances in 2025 out of the bullpen.
RHP Ernesto Mercedes
Mercedes, 22, has big velocity and big strikeout stuff but has yet to figure out control, walking 39 hitters in 2025 over 44 innings while striking out 56. Mercedes has allowed two runs on two hits while walking one and striking out one, giving him an 18.00 ERA.
Mercedes only has over 100 innings in full-season affiliates and despite his wildness, there is something else there that allows him to minimize hits and strike batters out. Mercedes has yet to pitch above Low-A and will be looking to build off of a season that saw his control improve but still be subpar.
