The NL East champion Phillies let a 3-0 lead get away in Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday. Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani struck out four times at the plate, but he struck out nine Phillies over six innings on the mound.
Per the Phillies, former Met Harrison Bader was removed from Saturday night’s game with a left hamstring strain. He was pinch-hit for by Nick Castellanos, who grounded into a double play in a key spot in the seventh. Bader had made a sensational catch earlier in the game.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson later clarified to reporters that it was actually groin tightness. Bader will get imaging done on Sunday.
The ALDS continues Sunday, while the NLDS picks back up on Monday.

According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Jackson Chourio exited Saturday’s game early after reaching on a run-scoring infield single. He missed most of August with a hamstring injury. MLB Trade Rumors later elaborated and said he was undergoing an MRI for a hamstring injury. He was 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the second inning before exiting.
Per MLB Trade Rumors, after 11 major league seasons, veteran catcher Curt Casali retired from baseball and will be joining the Cincinati Reds’ front office staff.
As the 2025 division series get underway, MLB Trade Rumors noted that former Mets Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt, along with Bo Bichette, are not on the Blue Jays’ ALDS roster for their series against the New York Yankees.
