Good morning, Mets fans!

The Wild Card round wrapped up last night with three decisive Game 3s, setting the stage for the Division Series.

In the Bronx, the Yankees blanked the Red Sox 4-0 to move on to the ALDS. Rookie right-hander Cam Schlittler delivered a historic debut, striking out 12 over eight scoreless innings. All of New York’s offense came in the fourth inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues with RBI hits from Amed Rosario and Anthony Volpe before two more runs scored on an Austin Wells grounder. With the win, the Yankees advanced to face the Blue Jays in Toronto.

In Cleveland, the Tigers broke through late to defeat the Guardians 6-3. Dillon Dingler’s sixth-inning homer gave Detroit the lead, and Wenceel Pérez snapped out of his slump with a huge two-run single in the seventh to spark a four-run rally. Spencer Torkelson and Riley Greene added insurance as the Tigers pulled away, completing a turnaround after a rocky September. Detroit now heads west for an ALDS matchup against the Mariners.

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs held off the Padres 3-1 to secure their first home postseason series win since 2016. Pete Crow-Armstrong led the way with three hits, including an RBI single in the second, while also flashing his glove with a highlight-reel catch. Michael Busch added a solo homer in the seventh to give Chicago breathing room, and despite a late Jackson Merrill home run for San Diego, the Cubs closed it out. They advance to face the Brewers in a highly anticipated NLDS showdown between division rivals.

The Division Series begins Saturday with the Yankees-Blue Jays, Tigers-Mariners and Cubs-Brewers. There is no baseball on Friday.
