According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the New York Mets may face weather-related issues on Tuesday in Detroit, which may lead to the postponement of Max Scherzer‘s start until Wednesday. As a result, Justin Verlander is expected to start on Thursday, while Joey Lucchesi is likely to be utilized on Tuesday. Scherzer was initially supposed to start Monday but due to the weather in New York, he was pushed back to the Detroit series. This will be Scherzer’s first start since being suspended for ten games for the use of a “sticky” substance.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported that according to Mets manager Buck Showalter, Kodai Senga is scheduled to start on Friday against the Rockies in New York. Additionally, Showalter stated that Carlos Carrasco is showing signs of improvement and may rejoin the team’s rotation as early as next week.

Mets Vice President of Alumni Relations Jay Horowitz expressed his delight that former Mets pitcher Bill Pulsipher will be throwing the first pitch on Mental Health Awareness Day at the Mets game on Saturday. Horowitz mentioned Pulsipher’s bravery in openly discussing his mental health struggles and shared that he would be applauding Pulsipher for his contribution to raising awareness about mental health.

Passan notes that this is a remarkable recovery, far exceeding the expectations that he would not return until July. Harper is expected to join the lineup as the designated hitter today.

Fabian Ardaya, reporting for The Athletic, tweeted that the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the activation of Miguel Rojas from the injured list. In a corresponding move, Austin Wynns has been designated for assignment.

Mike Petriello of MLB announces a new tool has been released to access Statcast data that shows how many parks a ball would have been out of, which was previously difficult to access. The tool is available in several ways and is called Home Run Report on Twitter. This bot uses Statcast data to track baseball trajectories and provides information about home runs, with tweets posted at the end of each half inning.

However, Turner confirmed that the Dodgers did not make an offer during either the winter or last spring, and only had a few conversations over the winter. Turner expressed that his communication with the Dodgers’ front office was clear and straightforward throughout the process. While he didn’t explicitly state that he was surprised or disappointed that the Dodgers did not pursue him more aggressively, Turner did mention that the team would have been among his top choices.
