The Astros edged the Red Sox in Game 1 on Friday, despite Enrique Hernandez‘s heroics. Hernandez collected four hits including two homers, while the Astros came away with a 5-4 win.
Eovaldi will look to help the Red Sox bounce back, while Garcia will look to take the Astros back to Boston with a 2-0 series lead. Eovaldi has pitched in two games this postseason, and has a 2.61 ERA while striking out 16 in 10 1/3 innings. He’s pitched in eight playoff games in his career and owns a 1.93 ERA.
Garcia, just 24, struggled in the one postseason game he’s pitched in this year, giving up five runs in 2 2/3 innings.
The Red Sox have former Mets Kevin Plawecki and Hansel Robles on their roster.
