After a tough series loss to the Phillies, the Mets hit road to Boston to take on the Red Sox for a two-game set starting on Tuesday night. New York will send right Marcus Stroman (9-12, 2.88 ERA) out to the mound as Boston will give southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez (11-8, 5.00 ERA) the start.
First pitch at Fenway Park is set for 7:10 p.m. and can be seen on SNY. The game will also be broadcast on WCBS 880 and WQBU 92.7.

Pete Alonso will be hosting the Battle of the Boroughs, a home run derby for the area’s top young athletes, at Maimonides Park in Brooklyn, per his Instagram page. The event, which is set for Monday, Sept. 27, will donate its proceeds to Homers for Heroes, a charity ran by Alonso and his fiancée.

Per the Yankees’ PR Twitter, the team has reinstated righty Luis Severino from the 60-day IR and released right-hander Sal Romano from the roster. New York manager Aaron Boone says he plans to use Severino from the bullpen, which would be his first appearance in nearly two years.
St. Louis righty Daniel Ponce de Leon has been designated for assignment, according the team’s Twitter page. Ponce de Leon, who has struggled on the mound this season with a 6.21 ERA, will either be placed on outright waivers or released by the Cardinals in the coming days.
