The Mets activated utility man Jose Peraza from the injured list on Wednesday, sending outfielder Albert Almora to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Peraza has been sidelined since July 20 with a fractured finger on his right hand. Peraza has spent the past two weeks rehabbing in Syracuse going 9-for-36 with four runs, four RBI, and a stolen base in 10 games.

Before his injury, Peraza was one of the Mets best late-game hitters. As a pinch hitter, he batted .357 and recorded a .911 OPS in late and close situations. During high leverage at-bats, he went 8-for-19 with three home runs, 11 RBI, three doubles.

Peraza has played in 52 games for New York this season.

Almora was recalled from Syracuse when rosters expanded at the start of September. The outfielder rarely saw game action making just one start on Sept. 4 and totaling five plate appearances. He’s recorded just six hits in 54 plate appearances this season.
