Good morning, Mets fans!
The team is coming off back-to-back wins against the Nationals, but there was some drama following the team after the game.
After their big hits, Francisco Lindor, Javier Báez and Kevin Pillar, celebrated by putting their thumbs down. This seemed innocent enough, but Báez explained there was more to it.

Báez went on to say postgame that it is a way the team is booing the fans back: “To let them know that when we don’t get success, we’re going to get booed. So they’re going to get booed when we get success.”
This sent Twitter and most of social media into a whirlwind with some fans expressing their anger toward the players and some fans defending the players’ right to celebrate however they want.
