The New York Mets have announced that tonight’s matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium has been postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up as part of a single admission doubleheader beginning on Wednesday evening at 5:15 pm, and both games will be seven innings long.
This is a bit of good news for the Mets, as Miguel Castro was scheduled to start tonight’s ballgame with Jacob deGrom being scratched earlier this afternoon due to side tightness.
Manager Luis Rojas announced that Marcus Stroman will start the first game of the two-game set, and game two is still TBA. Rojas did mentioned that recently recalled right-hander Jordan Yamamoto is a possibility to start that second game.
The Mets have now had seven postponements and one suspended game to begin the 2021 season.
