Opening Day is almost here. The Mets first game of the season is slated for April 1st at 7:09 PM against the Nationals and will be aired on ESPN, per Michael Mayer.
The Mets will be hosting more day games on Saturdays in 2021. Through the first half of the 2021 season, only two Saturday games will begin at 7:10 p.m-the others all slated for an afternoon start. After the All-Star break every Saturday hosted at Citi Field will be a night game, per David Lennon of Newsday Sports.
Coming off of a torn capsule in his shoulder, former Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez is scheduled to throw for scouts on Saturday in Miami. The Mets are viewed as a potential suitor, per Mike Puma of The New York Post. New York was also notably scouting the 28-year-old this past October.

Marwin Gonzalez has agreed to a deal with the Red Sox, per Mark Feinsand of MLB Network.
The Red Sox are also reportedly increasingly likely to resign Jackie Bradley Jr., according to Mark Feinsand of MLB Network. “It makes too much sense not to happen now,” since the team traded Andrew Benintendi, Feinsand reported.
Free-agent reliever Ken Giles is headed to Seattle on a two-year deal with the M’s, according to Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle. The 30-year-old had Tommy John surgery in September and isn’t expected to see the field until 2022.
Former Met Jake Marisnick is close to signing with the Cubs, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Free agent starter James Paxton is said to be seeking more than $11 million, per Andy Martino of SNY. The Yankees recently signed former Indian Corey Kluber to a one-year year deal for $11 million, and 32-year-old southpaw Paxton is seeking to top that, as he remains unsigned just a week before pitchers and catchers report.
