Mets owner Steve Cohen expects to win a championship sooner rather than later. “If I don’t win a World Series in the next 3-5 years… I would consider that slightly disappointing,” Cohen said during his introductory news conference.

Cohen also explained that the Mets have the best pitcher in baseball, with Jacob deGrom, but supporting their ace is a priority this offseaosn.

Mets President Sandy Alderson said it is very likely that Luis Rojas will remain as the manager of the Mets. However, he did not rule out the possibility that the new baseball operations chief might want to go in another direction.

Alderson spoke fondly of top free agent starting pitcher Trevor Bauer when being interviewed on WFAN on Tuesday afternoon.

Former Met and current free agent Marcus Stroman said via Twitter that “no amount of money” could convince him to play for White Sox skipper Tony La Russa amid Monday night’s revelation that the team knew he’d been charged with a second DUI offense prior to making the hire.

Formet Met Jerry Blevins explained via Twitter that he believes that the Mets organization is a top destination for players, coaches and front office personnel alike.

The Mets dropped their affiliation with the Columbia Fireflies, as was covered by MetsMinors.net.

MetsMinors.net also covered Cohen’s comments on building a strong farm system.
