Free agent reliever Dellin Betances is reportedly looking for a one-year, $10 million deal according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Betances is looking to bet on himself after a disappointing 2019 season that saw him pitch in only one major league game due to injury.
Betances has a career 2.36 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and an incredible 14.6 K/9 in 381 2/3 innings over eight seasons for the Yankees.
The Dodgers – despite already signing Blake Treinen and having Kenley Jansen – are one of the top teams showing interest. Phillies are in on Betances as well and recent reports say the Mets are unlikely to sign the right-hander.
Betances has been working out at Impact Zone in New Jersey alongside Mets reliever Jeurys Familia this offseason.
