The Syracuse offense was held to only four hits on the night of which Alcantara’s double was the only extra base hit.

It was a second straight rough start in (AAA) for Kay as he allowed four runs on four hits and a walk although he was not helped much by his outfield defense as misplays by Tim Tebow in left field and Aaron Altherr in center field turned into two-run scoring doubles.

Binghamton (36-29) 4, New Hampshire (31-38) 2 Box Score

Sanchez paced the Rumble Ponies offense with three of the team’s ten hits as he extended his hitting streak to ten games. Gimenez also got in on the action scoring twice and hitting his fourth extra base hit since returning from the MiLB injured list. Before his injury, Gimenez had only four extra base hits in the previous twenty-two games so its encouraging to see a bit of a power surge.

Wilson was able to keep the Fisher Cats offense off-balance all night earning his first career (AA) win. Wilson only allowed one line drive batted ball on the night while inducing nine ground ball outs and six fly balls outs.

Florida (35-35) 4, St. Lucie (27-43) 2 Box Score

Vasquez and Cortes both continued their recent hot hitting performances but the rest of the St. Lucie offense was quiet with only two hits amongst the rest of the lineup. For Vasquez, it was his fourth multi-hit performance in the last seven games. As for Cortes, since May 1st, he is now up to a .280 AVG/.855 OPS with almost half of his hits being of the extra base variety.

The Fire Frogs jumped on Smith for four runs in the first two innings of the game but he was able to settle in and retire eleven of the next twelve batters including six via strikeout. Jacob Rhame made his first rehab appearance and tossed a perfect inning of work without any issue.

Its not a good day when a position player is the one we are highlighting in the recap. Sharp was the only Columbia pitcher on the night to NOT allow a run to score during his time on the mound. The combination of Willy Taveras, Bryce Hutchinson, Christian Tripp, and Chris Viall combining to allow twenty-six runs on twenty-five hits and three walks.

Kingsport (2-1) 13, Greenville (1-2) 6 Box Score

After spending three seasons in the foreign rookie Dominican Summer Leagues, 2015 international signee Andres Regnault is finally stateside and is showing off some serious power with his second straight three hit/one home run/four RBI game for Kingsport. He was part of a thirteen hit team effort that saw every player in the lineup reach base at least once.

Even though they gave up a combined five earned runs, Loaiza and Hardy showed off some electric stuff combining for fourteen strikeouts on the day. Despite Kingsport having a sizable 12-6 lead at the time he entered the game, Rodriguez was assigned the win after bailing Mitchell Senger out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth inning. He then went out to strikeout two of the four batters he faced in the ninth to close the game out.

DSL Mets1 (7-7) 5, DSL Yankees (7-8) 3 Box Score

Polanco and Linares combined for four of the team’s seven hits and either scored or drove in four of the five runs on the day for the Mets.

The DSL Mets2 offense showed off some incredible patience as ten of the first thirteen Mets batters in the game drew walks. In total the team walked fifteen times in the game in addition to their six hits.
