Bob Raismann of the New York Daily News reports that former-Mets manager Terry Collins has taken a job with Fox Sports to work as an analyst on their studio shows. One of the shows he will be used on is “MLB Whiparound” where he will be joining former SNY broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt and former MLB star Frank Thomas.

Collins, 69, was the manager for the Mets from 2011-2017 in which the team went 551-583 under his direction. His 551 wins rank second All-Time in terms of most wins for a Mets manager trailing only Davey Johnson who recorded 595.

The team also made the playoffs twice (2015, 2016) and made a run to the World Series the first time around in which they lost to the Kansas City Royals in five games.

The former manager has most recently and will continue to serve as a special advisor to GM Brodie Van Wagenen. As Raismann notes, Collins will be the second member of the media to work in such a capacity for the Mets as the team hired Jessica Mendoza this past offseason as well, who currently works for ESPN and is an announcer on Sunday Night Baseball.

Collins was very well known for having very fiery press conferences over the course of his managerial career that also included the Anaheim Angels and Houston Astros. Below, you can see possibly his most famous one, which took place July 29, 2015, the night the infamous Wilmer Flores/Carlos Gomez trade fiasco took place.
