
Mets manager Mickey Callaway said before the game on Friday night that Yoenis Cespedes is currently hitting off a tee and hitting the cage.
Callaway also that that Cespedes is doing ground-based conditioning, “he’s doing more and more everyday.”
In early April, Cespedes met with the Mets team while they were playing in Miami. He played catch while the team took batting practice.
The veteran slugger is continuing his rehab after undergoing double heel surgery this offseason with the final one coming in October to remove calcifications in his left heel.
The left fielder is under contract with the Mets through the 2020 season with $58.5 million left on his contract.
