The New York Mets told reporters on Tuesday morning that veteran infielder Todd Frazier had an MRI that showed a left oblique strain. He’s considered day-to-day and will head to New York for a cortisone shot.

Frazier talked to reporters to explain his injury and Matt Ehalt of The Record caught the following video.

This is second injury to a veteran infielder during camp, Jed Lowrie is currently out and questionable for Opening Day with a left knee capsule sprain.

Frazier, 33, is coming off a disappointing 2018 season in which he hit just .213/.303/.390 with 18 doubles, 18 home runs, and 59 RBI. He posted a 1.9 bWAR in 115 games. The Toms River, New Jersey native is a free agent after the 2019 season.
